can i start with a question?

I was wondering if the old testament(covenant) refers to the law of moses only or does it refer to a covenant that was different than the new testament (covenant) that was excersized from adam to christ?

The word "Testament" means "Covenant". therefore,we have two books...the old "Covenant" and the new "Covenant".

Heb. 8: 13.
13 In that he saith, a new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth bold is ready to vanish away.

Heb. 7:19–20
“For the law [of Moses] made nothing perfect, but [was only] the bringing in of a better hope … ; by the which we draw nigh unto God. … [And] by so much was Jesus made [the] surety of a better testament” (Heb. 7:19, 22; see also Joseph Smith Translation, Heb. 7:19–20).

We know that there is a difference between the two Covenants. But my question is...Did the old covenant start with Adam or with Moses?

George A. Horton Jr.(don't know who he is) wrote this in an Ensign:
They taught that the “Old Covenant” made on Mount Sinai was fulfilled by the “New Covenant” brought to pass in Gethsemane and Calvary. The Lord said: “I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah. … I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people” (Jer. 31:31, 33).George A. Horton Jr., “An Indispensable Foundation,” Ensign, Mar 2002, 38

I guess that would answer my question if I knew who George A. Horton Jr. was and I could trust him.
